Happy Valentine’s Day

All men fear death. It’s a natural fear that consumes us all. We fear death because we feel that we haven’t loved well enough or loved at all, which ultimately are one and the same. However, when you make love with a truly great woman, one that deserves the utmost respect in this world and one that makes you feel truly powerful, that fear of death completely disappears. Because when you are sharing your body and heart with a great woman the world fades away. You two are the only ones in the entire universe. You conquer what most lesser men have never conquered before, you have conquered a great woman’s heart, the most vulnerable thing she can offer to another. Death no longer lingers in the mind. Fear no longer clouds your heart. Only passion for living, and for loving, become your sole reality. This is no easy task for it takes insurmountable courage. But remember this, for that moment when you are making love with a woman of true greatness you will feel immortal.

Imperially second.

“What I realized during this Australian Open is that Nadal sets the tone for this state of affairs more than anyone else, certainly more than Federer. Roger is so cool and frictionless that, most of the time, he seems less like a prism of epic intensity than a dispassionate analyst of it.6 Djokovic, since his ascent, has been so much better than everyone else that he’s largely been able to act like a careful clinician, the administrator of his own talent. And Murray has lost to the other guys so often that his anger and frustration seem basically inconsequential. In other words, the game may be epic for the fans, but you won’t always catch that ground note of holy-shit intensity if you only watch the other three players. Left to themselves, they don’t exactly project deep contact with the secret fires of time.

Nadal, though? He plays like he’s fighting giants. It’s not just the sneer, or the muscles, or the hair, or that forehand — you know, the one where he swoops the racket all the way around his head like he’s whipping the team pulling his chariot. It’s also that frantic tenacity that used to drive me so nuts. Federer seems devastated when he loses but he also seems to sense losses coming and accept them before they arrive. When Nadal falls behind, he turns the match into life and death. He gets mad. He hesitates less. He hits the ball harder. He doesn’t look sad or scared. He looks defiant, and he plays like he’s possessed.

As a result, he carries matches to a higher plane than they have any business reaching. Djokovic could and should have won the Australian final in four sets, but Nadal refused to surrender, played lethal tennis, and took Djokovic to a place he’d never been. Instead of notching a routine victory, Djokovic had to tap into the same well of inspiration that Nadal was already drawing from. You could say that all these guys have learned what it means to fight on the plains of Troy because Nadal does it in every match. And we see him do it, so we know what it means, too.”

Don’t rely on Meru cabs

Yesterday I planned to visit Belur.  Since I was going alone I decided to use public transport for my visit. I checked with KSRTC bus and decided to board on either 5 am bus or 6 am bus. Its a 4 hour journey from Bangalore to Belur and anything after 6 am will wont give me enough time to visit all the places around and come back  same day. I booked Meru cab to drop me to inter-state bus stand. I received a  message from Meeru with my reference number and message that cab guy will contact me 30 min before journey i.e 3.30 am. I was so sure of cab that I don’t event set alarm in my mobile. When I wake up i realised it already 5.30 and there is no cab !!!

I immediately called Meeru customer services and to get yet another surprise of the day. 30 min hold time on IVRS !!!.  So they didn’t sent a cab for me and ensured that I cannot contact them if anything went wrong during the whole process.  I am sure terms and conditions for whole trans cation will be such that I cannot make them pay for such  pathetic experience and lost opportunity cost. Only thing I can do is not to rely on Meru cab ( ‘Reply on us’ is there tag line ) .

My Kingfisher experience.

Hype and expectations can kill any experience. And this is what happen when  I took Kingfisher Red light to Bangalore  early this month. Actully in past three month I got opportunity to fly with three different flier. As Kingfisher enjoy highest brand equity among indian flier I wanted to experience the difference. So I choose to fly with Kingfisher though it cost me Rs 1500 extra . It was a mixed experience.

Check-in Counter

Beginning was not very auspicous. Kingfisher’s counter at Delhi airport’s new terminal was total mess. Unequipped ground staff  took 20 min to issue single  boarding pass while passenger moved  from one line to other.

In-flight service:

Seating space is no different from other flier though seats cover were much neater.In-flight entertainment was a huge disppointment. Same flimsy headphone and nothing much  to watch and listen. To kill time I asked for something to read and attendent offered me a year old flight magazine. Aah!  those flight attendent. Young , bright, slim and beautiful. Lazy too. Personally I feel they got a very hard and boring job to do and it damn hard to impress to all people all the time. I do not  know how they feel about that make-up and forced smile but I kind a hate  that.

gpmcpvxx03207jpgam1 If I compare this with other two  flier I think  Indian Airlines  had best in-flight services with well trained and courteous staff but it  interiors was shabby. In fact at one time I thought if  I am traveling in some third class taxi. I had better overall experience with Jet airways.
